THE HARSH REALITY

Delhi's Air Is Hurting Us

Delhi’s air is not just polluted — it’s painful. Burning eyes. Heavy chests. Children coughing through the night. Parents staying awake because even breathing feels difficult.

This isn’t just a pollution crisis. This is a Health Emergency. The worst part? Not only the toxic air, but the fear that truth is being hidden. When the air stings but the AQI reads “moderate,” when monitoring stations go silent on the worst days, it feels like our pain is being ignored.

We can face the reality.

We cannot live with sugar-coated lies.

We deserve transparency.

Clean air is a right, not a privilege. If the air is unsafe, we must be told. If it's harmful for our kids and elders, we deserve clear warnings. This is not about politics. This is about survival.

THE PETITION LETTER

The Letter You Will Sign

To:
The Prime Minister Of India
The Chief Minister of Delhi

We, the citizens of Delhi NCR, are living through a severe public health emergency. With AQI crossing 500 it has become unsafe to breathe. Children are gasping, the elderly are collapsing, and millions are suffering burning eyes, breathlessness, and long term health damage. This crisis reflects a prolonged failure of both Union and State authorities to protect our right to clean air.

Facts that cannot be ignored

  • PM2.5 levels in Delhi remain 50 to 100 times higher than WHO’s safe limits for most of the year
  • Key sources include unchecked vehicular emissions, widespread construction dust, and uncontrolled industrial pollution
  • There is still no effective emergency response, no long term roadmap, and no clear accountability.

Our demands

  • An Immediate Emergency Action Plan issued jointly by Union and State governments
  • A science based long term strategy with timelines to reduce emissions from all major sources.
  • Recognition of the Right to Breathe and an AQI of 50 as basic and non negotiable rights.
We request urgent, coordinated, and time bound action. The people of Delhi NCR cannot wait any longer for clean and safe air.

Sincerely,

Citizens of Delhi NCR
